Spotlight Series: 2016 Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, Day 5
As we come to the end of our five days of recognizing outstanding Direct Support Professionals at ASN, we cannot say “Thank You” enough to all of the exceptional support staff who make a difference for the people we support every day. Arkansas Support Network and the mission of our organization would not exist without these wonderful people, and, more importantly, hundreds of individuals with disabilities would not be able to live active lives in their communities without the support of this awesome group.
Here are a few more examples of this great group. Make sure to read all of this week’s posts to meet other ASN DSPs.
Iyad Hassan has been an employee of ASN for 12 years. He’s provided supports to many people during that time, and for each of those individuals, he has always looked out for the best interest of the person receiving services. Iyad provides consistency, continuity, and diligence to every person he supports and to every support team he’s been a part of. He develops positive relationships with the individuals he supports and the families who love them and works hard to support their needs.
Le Posada has provided supports through ASN for two years. She takes great care to attend to every detail of the lives of the individuals she supports. Le is thorough in addressing every aspect of those individuals’ support needs and reliably and independently makes it her business to ensure that support needs are met. Her team members praise the quality of the support Le provides and the individuals she supports trust and rely on her greatly.
Mario “Beto” Trecanao has worked at ASN for almost 13 years. He develops close relationships with the individuals he supports and provides supports necessary to assist them to reach their goals. Beto is always professional, reliable, and flexible to the needs of the individuals he serves. He excels at supporting individuals to be active members of their communities and goes the extra mile to support individuals’ goals.
Dominique Plummer has worked for ASN for less than a year, but in that short time, she has made a big impact on the individuals she supports and the teams she works with. Dominique is extremely dependable and always willing to help out in any situation. She treats the individuals she supports with respect and cares for their well-being. Dominique makes the individuals she supports feel valuable and important.
We have thoroughly enjoyed introducing you to a small sampling of some of the great people who work at ASN to recognize Direct Support Professionals Week. Thank you for reading and learning about these important employees. We can never recognize and appreciate these folks enough for the valuable roles they play in individuals’ lives.
If you have an opportunity, please make sure to thank the DSPs you come across and let you political representatives know how important Direct Support Professionals are for individuals with disabilities, their families, and all of our communities.
