Sharing the Good–January 2017
So much of what we do at ASN is about finding and connecting with the good in people and in everyday life. It is an important part of the work that we do and ensures we do our work in the best way possible. We’ve found sharing “Good Stories” to be a powerful way to connect with one another, energize ourselves, and celebrate the amazing accomplishments of the people we support and the people we employ. As a matter of fact, we love “Good Stories” so much, we want to share them with the world. Each month, we will select a good story shared by a member of the ASN family and share it on our blog.
This month’s story comes from our direct support professional, Devona Hughes. She shared the employment accomplishment of the person she supports, Larry Owens. With Devona and Larry’s permission, we’d like to share with you:
“November 28th 2016 marked two years that Larry Owens has been at his job at Slim Chicken in Rogers. He is VERY proud that he’s made the 2-year mark and reminds his staff EVERYDAY that he’s been there for two years. Managers at Slim Chicken say Larry is a hardworker, and they love him being a part of the Slim Chicken family. (Let Larry tell it- he’s the hardest worker in the building) All of Larry’s support staff know this is a major accomplishment for Larry, but we wanted to share with the rest of the ASN family how proud he is of his job and how proud we are of him. He said he doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon.”
Congratulations Larry, and thanks for sharing Devona! Stay tuned for many more good stories to come.
